SEA to SKY

Inspired by the rugged coast along the Pacific Northwest from Oregon  to British Columbia

THE COLLECTION

I lived in Oregon for the bulk of my adult life, from January 2007 to April 2024 and traveled extensively throughout the region up along the coast into British Columbia. I've named this series inspired by the landscapes of that area "Sea to Sky" after the Canadian highway that runs from Vancouver along the coast of the Pacific Ocean through Squamish, Whistler and up to Pemberton. It's a beautiful drive and just before moving to North Carolina last year, I was lucky enough to make that scenic drive again.

Ever since landing in North Carolina, I've been missing the PNW, and honestly it's been a pretty rough transition. As a lifelong artist, the best way for me to process my internal experience is to make art. And for the past several months I've been finding myself in blues and greens - temperate rainforest meets ocean vibes.

I also created my own art retreat and stayed in Victoria, BC for 11 days mid-July 2025. It was truly healing on multiple levels - no humidity, warm breezy days, not too hot, long strolls near the Pacific Ocean, so many big coniferous trees. Free from anxious American energy. It felt like home, comfort, spacious peace for me, and I think that some of this just might come through in these paintings. You tell me. (:

The paintings are very textured, mixed media, some of them quite tactile and sculpture-like. You can hang them on the wall or set them on a shelf or table as they are free-standing and the canvas edges are painted. (The artwork continues and wraps around the edges.) They each have a multitude of layers of paint and medium and are quite durable.

The official launch of this series was on Friday, August 8th when my online shop went live for the first time. As always, reach me at hello@faysavagearts.com if you have questions or want to ship outside of the US or Canada.

Below are some of the pieces in this collection along with quite a few close-ups and detail shots. Find them on the shop tab as well.
